“Serial to Ethernet, StablE" is an international project contest for developers worldwide, powered by WIZnet. This contest gives developers an opportunity to showcase their skills in IoT innovation and competency.
We invite all contestants to explore WIZnet's new serial to Ethernet device, WIZ750SR. Any idea or project submission based on WIZ750SR will be accepted, because every project will enhance the functions of WIZ750SR and empower its usefulness.
For contestants, WIZnet provides the standard firmware which supports configuration of the device by Ethernet and data exchange between serial and Ethernet under plenty of options. Contestants had better use the basic software framework and add only their idea on it. Of course, they can design their own complete code from the beginning just using WIZ750SR as a HW platform. It is recommended to use any kind of sensors, actuators or any other devices additionally to differentiate your project from others.
Submit your ideas during the first phase of the contest, May 16 ~ April 20, for a chance to win a free WIZ750SR board to build your project and win cash prizes!

Tesla owners are required to have the PCAN-USB adapter and Tesla’s Event Data Recorder (EDR) Retrieval Program to generate a PDF report outlining the findings from their electric cars’ data recorder.
Tesla is now allowing owners of its vehicles to access their cars’ Event Data Recorder (EDR), commonly known as the ‘black box’ of autos, through a set of licensed tools and software.
As noted by Tesla on its official help page for its EDR user guide, all of the company’s vehicles save for the original Roadster are equipped with an Event Data Recorder. The recording devices are only activated once the vehicle senses a non-trivial physical occurrence in the vehicle. Thus, during normal driving conditions, the EDR is deactivated.
In the event that data logs from the EDR need to be accessed, however, Tesla’s new set of proprietary tools and software can retrieve data from the vehicle’s black box. The following hardware is required to gain access to the data to the Model S, X, and 3’s EDR.
Teledyne LeCroy, the worldwide leader in Bluetooth® protocol analysis and testing services is pleased to announce the Harmony LE Bluetooth Conformance Tester has been recognized by the Bluetooth SIG as a Validated Test System in accordance with the Test System Activation Process. The Harmony LE Bluetooth Tester is a robust conformance testing platform, focused on the Bluetooth low energy specification. It is an integrated software/hardware test platform for Bluetooth protocol qualification testing for LE link Layer and HCI for the Bluetooth 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5 specifications.
Device conformance to the Bluetooth specification is mandatory to ensure enabled devices work correctly with other devices in the Bluetooth ecosystem. With the recognition of the Harmony LE Bluetooth Conformance Tester, a validated test system in TCRL 2017-2 for LE Link Layer and HCI tests, companies can efficiently prepare products for market, confident in conformance as outlined by the Bluetooth SIG.
“Global product interoperability is a cornerstone of Bluetooth technology, and the Bluetooth product qualification process is central to ensuring the interoperability of the nearly 4 billion new Bluetooth devices forecasted to ship in 2018, “ said Marriot Winquist, Vice President of Member Development and Services at the Bluetooth SIG. “It’s great to see our member companies deliver tools that further strengthen the Bluetooth qualification process and, as a result, help other members deliver more innovative, secure, and highly interoperable Bluetooth products to market.”
The Harmony LE Bluetooth Tester works in tandem with the Sodera Wideband Bluetooth Protocol Analyzer. The two combined provide the testing platform used to certify conformance with the LE Link Layer and HCI Bluetooth specifications.
